Design Stand Point
Through media design we create our own worlds. Whether it be in film, gaming, animation, graphic design and many other forms of media, the media designer creates worlds for us to experience. In my film i would like to explore this idea by having a character create his own environments and have the audience journey with him through each of them.
There are many tools we as designers use to make art that help carry viewers into another world. From something as simple as a pencil or a pen to something as complicated as a program like Photoshop, we can create. I plan to use these different tools to outline the diverse nature of media design.
My main point to convey in my film is the limitlessness of the mind and how this can be translated into something physical through media design. I will find desirable locations for my film which generally will offer inspiration to people. These could include aspects of nature such as trees or oceans and man made objects or tools such as lights.
I plan to have my film split into four different sequences which show a different location in every sequence.
My four different locations are listed below.
Oriental bay
Te Puni Village
Botanic Gardens
Alleyway with light
Using well edited transitions between the four locations in my film will create an interesting narrative where the artist travels through three different locations after being stuck in his dull room.

GROUP WORK #2
Kasi Group Project: Advertisement Intentions.
During the first Group assignment, we
decided that our Brand, Kasi Sportswear, specialized in sports gloves. With
this, we decided that Boxing was the sport where gloves were most prominent,
and that this would be the main feature of our 15 second advertisement. We
wanted to play on how sports ads highlight how their equipment enhance your
performance, so we used the contrast of hitting someone without gloves on and
hitting someone with gloves on. Since we were restricted in use of materials,
instead of using actual boxing gloves, we used the letters of the brand name to
represent our wear. The portrayal of this comes through when the character
connects a punch to the Brand name. This makes the audience watching it think
about the protection of our products and the added impact that they provide. We
chose to use Stop Motion because it adds the effect of slower movement and
‘being in the moment’, those times where it seems like time has slowed down. It
also let us give the advertisement a shaky, rough feel, so for those who have
are boxers, they can relate to the constant moving feeling.
